powder tests. It seems like a fuel pressure leak, which can be dangerous. Gas burns cars. It runs okay going down the road because your pump has had time to overcome the leak, but it's still leaking. .... Are you sure you cycled the fuel pump properly, several times, before determining that it had no effect? If it is leaking, and you wait at all between cycles, or before trying to start the car, you'll lose what pressure you have quickly.
